The President of the Argentine-Turkish Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Özgür Demir, paid a visit to the offices of the Wholesale Electricity Market Administration Company (CAMMESA), where he was welcomed by Mr. Eduardo Hollidge, General Manager, and Mr. Claudio Randone, Fuel Manager.

Mr. Demir opened the meeting with a formal presentation of the Chamber, highlighting the organization’s main activities and its key role in promoting commercial ties between Türkiye and Argentina. He particularly emphasized the Chamber’s interest in encouraging Turkish investment in Argentina, especially in strategic sectors such as renewable energy.

For his part, Mr. Eduardo Hollidge provided an overview of CAMMESA’s functions and responsibilities. He explained that the company plays a critical role in coordinating electricity dispatch operations in the country, setting wholesale prices, and managing economic transactions within the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI). He also noted that CAMMESA is essential in ensuring the stability of the energy system, underlining the importance of electricity imports from Brazil to meet peak demand, particularly during periods of high temperatures.

Mr. Hollidge also stressed the need to continue promoting the development of renewable energy as one of the main pillars for the future of Argentina’s energy sector. In this regard, Mr. Demir expressed the Chamber’s interest in attracting Turkish investments into Argentina’s renewable energy sector, offering advisory and management support to ensure investors feel safe and confident in Argentina’s environment for the development of clean and sustainable technologies.
